Our Activities
Members of Uttoxeter Rotary Club not only "Serve the Community" but also enjoy great "Fellowship". This is a flavour of what we get up to.

This takes many forms, with Members taking on a variety of challenges.

At
Christmas we tour the streets with Santa's Sleigh and one very committed
Father Christmas!
It's
amazing what gets left over after the V Festival. We collect the perfectly
good tents and the local Scouts and Cubs benefit. We also join the District
in sending many more overseas.

Kirk
House is a local Old Peoples Home. With the help of the Club they now they
have a minibus, complete with tail lift for wheel chairs.

Gary
and his mother love to get out into the countryside, but his disabilities
meant that he needed transport. With the help of funds raised by the Club
we provided them with a bike and trailer

Replacing
a historic part of Uttoxeter, the Johnson Lamp, was our way of celebrating
the Centenary of Rotary

At
Christmas the more vocally gifted members visit the Old Peoples homes and
entertain them with Carols

The
Aquabox is one way we help those Overseas who have faced catastrophes, such
as the Tsunami in Sri Lanka or the Earthquake in China

Every
year the Club holds a Christmas Party for the Old People in Uttoxeter. Apart
from the Christmas meal they are "entertained" by Members with
acts of varying ability

The
Younger members of the Community are not forgotten. The Young Chef award
is a well supported annual competition for Middle Schools in the area

..and
for those with seeking the challenge of Public Speaking are not forgotten
with the "Youth Speaks" competition.
Fellowship
Whilst active in serving the Community, the Club Members do have time to enjoy themselves in a variety of ways.
Amongst
local venues we have visited Blithfield Hall with our wives

"Members
only" visit to the Micro Brewery on a farm near Abbots Bromley was
very well supported!

A
visit to a major block paving manufacturer was proved a real eye opener

There
are more formal occasions, such as the District Conference held at Bournemouth,
or other conference resorts such as Llandudno
